I read The Servant or O Monge e o executivo. It’s a wonderful book. To my mind, every single person should read it. Not only is it about leadership but also about how to live a better life in this world. We’re supposed to love each other. If you love someone, you’re likely to help this person and do whatever you can to do good. Besides, you’ll never do him/her any harm.
Have you ever read this book(The servant (=O monge e o executivo, in Portuguese) by James C. Hunter)? What’s your opinion?

Thanks for the tip, Ana Paula. I have not read it yet. The last book I read and which I strongly recommend is Haroun and the Sea of Stories by Salman Rushdie, the writer of Satanic Verses. It is a tale about a storyteller who loses his skill and a struggle against mysterious forces attempting to block the seas of inspiration from which all stories are derived.

You know, I’m an avid reader and you made it sound so interesting that I’d like to read it. Do you think I’ll be able to get a copy of it?

Did you get the email I sent with a photo of us in the jungle? I tried to send it, but I´m not good with technology. I wanted to apologise for putting too much pressure on you- your life would have been easier if you’d left early…

I’ve just echecked the catalogue at
http://www.livrariacultura.com.br
and it takes about 6 weeks to get Haroun because it isn’t in sctock. Would you like to read (hborrow or keep) my copy? Send me your address and I´ll post it to you.
My own favourite book- and I like novels best- is The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy.
